Journal Entry 1

Activity: My focus was mainly on progressing Project B. The bulk of the work involved wrestling with the 2D microgame kit which, despite its potential, seems to have its fair share of quirks and bugs. A significant portion of my time was devoted to troubleshooting problems that arose with the 'Gunner' mechanics, the non-rendering shaders for the spikes, and the transitions between scenes, all of which proved more time-consuming than expected.

Notes: In recent days, I’ve been channeling all my efforts into drafting the complete version of Project B, trying to recreate the game design established in Project A. The process was quite challenging, as I ran into several obstacles with the 2D microgame kit. It’s been somewhat frustrating, as the kit presented more issues than anticipated, demanding attention on tasks that ideally shouldn't have been necessary.

Invested Hours: I dedicated a solid 10 to 12 hours overall to get these issues ironed out as much as possible.

Outcome: Despite the setbacks, I managed to make some headway. The 'gunner' problem has been resolved, though the spikes' shaders are still not rendering correctly in the final build - a puzzle that remains unsolved for now. Scene transitions are functioning better after a few tweaks, but there's still work to be done. Please note that the game is still in the preliminary build stage and not yet finished.
